The first thing that grabs my ear is the tone of the guitar, laser sharp and perfectly balance. It's a strong basis for a great set of solo improvisations that brings a lot that you don't often get at the table: clever use of volume pedal or tremolo to make the instrument weightless and elusive, exploration of harmonics with a real love for complex tones and textures, and more. This is a player still finding his own unique spaces in this much explored mode.
